Relaxing Sedation Dentistry
If your child is about to have a complex procedure, or they are particularly uneasy in the dental chair, we have different types of sedation available to calm them.
We follow industry standards set by the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the American Dental Association for safely administering sedation to young patients. Throughout the entire process, your child will be closely monitored, and we will give you any necessary instructions about what to do before and after the procedure.

Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)
With nitrous oxide, we place a small mask over your child’s nose for them to inhale the laughing gas through. In no time at all, your child will feel less nervous and antsy. Another benefit is that the effects wear off quickly afterwards, letting your child feel back to normal faster.
Oral Conscious Sedation
For children that have more serious anxiety or fear, we recommend oral conscious sedation. This option is administered through a pill that the child must take before their appointment. As the name implies, your child will be conscious during treatment and still able to communicate with you and the dentist.
General Anesthesia
Some procedures, such as oral surgery, may require general anesthesia as an outpatient procedure performed at one of the local hospitals, which is when a patient is put into a deep, restful sleep. In these situations, we will make sure that your child doesn’t have any prior conditions that may affect the anesthesia process.
